
Native Workplace Inc. is a Native operated non- profit organization created in 2002 with the objective to 
educate the community on jobs in renewable energy, to provide  strategic workforce development and tribal 
planning. Our mission is to create opportunity while honoring Native culture with results that improve the 
quality of life for Native families.
Cristala Mussato-Allen (Caddo) founded the organization and serves as the executive director. NWP has 
provided workshops and seminars for several Federal agencies such as the Department of Interior Office of 
Indian Energy & Economic Development (OIEED), Department of Labor, California Indian Manpower, and 
Department of Energy Tribal Energy Program, the National Congress of American Indians, National Center for 
American Indian Enterprise Development, National Tribal Employment Rights Council and the National 
Wildlife Federation. Additional work includes contracts from the Department of Interior BIA workforce 
development, Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe Housing and OST Renewable Energy Program among others.  
NWP entered the hemp and cannabis industries as Tribal Liaisons to assist tribes and corporations
in the development of Cannabis-Hemp education and commerce. NWP launched our effort by hosting the 
first Tribal Hemp & Cannabis Summit at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM April 2015.
